Overview
Terschelling is a sand-bottom beach break.
When It Works
The spot is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.5 m / 5 ft, so even small swell is enough to get it going, and it keeps working as the swell fills in toward the top of that range.
Wind and Tide
Look for offshore wind from the north-northwest (NNW), with a workable wind window that runs from southeast through south to west. It breaks across mid and high tide, and both rising and falling water can deliver, though high tide is the best call.
Local Tips
Terschelling suits beginners and intermediates, so it is a friendly place to find your feet or build on the basics.
