The Reef surf guide

The Reef is located at the center of the beach and is known for its small swell peak that suits longboards and beginners. This spot attracts a handful of locals and old-timers who often hang out here, giving it a chill vibe. It’s a decent place to catch some waves, especially if you’re just starting out or looking for a relaxed session.

If you’re heading to The Reef, the best conditions come from a Southeast swell direction, although it can also work with Northeast and Southwest swells. You’ll find it breaking over an uneven reef, which can create both left and right waves. The spot handles swell sizes around 2 feet (about 0.6 meters), making it manageable for those still getting the hang of things. The preferable wind direction is Northwest, and you can surf here during low, mid, or high tides without much issue.

This spot is great for beginners, so if you're looking to improve your skills, you’ll feel right at home. Just keep in mind that the uneven reef can make for some tricky spots, so stay aware and enjoy the local atmosphere while you’re out on the water.
