Overview
The Wall - Cronulla is a stretch of above-average beachbreaks that break over sand. As the beach curves around, this end picks up a little more southerly protection than the breaks to the north, and it peels both left and right.
When It Works
It draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south (NE-ESE-S), with southeast (SE) the pick of the bunch. The banks are usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 3 m / 10 ft and the spot is a consistent performer. It can be picture perfect on a southeast swell at mid tide.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind. The beachbreaks work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a friendly one for beginners to cut their teeth on. Expect a busy lineup when it's on, and it can get a bit aggro on the better days.
Access
There's plenty on hand, with restrooms, showers, a lifeguard, a surf school, and a surf shop. For parking, you've got a car park with free spaces alongside paid and roadside options.
