Tikehau Right surf guide

Tikehau Right is a surf spot located in Tikehau, known for its laid-back vibe and unique wave qualities. The wave usually offers a more forgiving ride compared to the left over the pass, which can be a good change for many surfers. This spot generally caters well to intermediates, making it a decent choice for those looking to progress their skills.

The surf breaks right over a live coral reef and handles swells primarily coming from the NorthWest, while also being able to catch some swell from the SouthWest. You'll find that it works best with swells around 3ft (approximately 0.9 meters). The wave tends to be hollower on the outside and more straightforward as it approaches the inside, where it shoulders off at a more gradual pace. Mid to high tides are preferable for this spot, and NE-E winds create the best conditions.

For those heading out, remember that this spot is mainly suitable for intermediate surfers, so it’s a great place to build confidence. Tikehau Right can get fun on the right day, but it's important to keep an eye on the swell conditions as it can occasionally turn intense with larger NW swells.
