Tirua is a surf spot that offers a unique experience, especially for those who like a bit of adventure. Located near a large river, it can be a bit messy, with strong currents affecting the line-up. Even though it might not be the most reliable spot around, when the conditions are right, you can find it offshore with a south wind, and it often sees fewer crowds.

This spot mainly handles swells coming from the south and west, kicking up waves that can range from 2 feet (approximately 0.6 meters) and above. The surf breaks over sand, creating rivermouth waves that peel left. It's best to surf during low to mid or even high tide, but intermediate surfers will feel right at home here as they navigate the sometimes challenging conditions.
