Tolsta is an east coast beachbreak that peels along a pristine, empty stretch of sand. It runs both left and right, and when it's on it can turn hollow and fast.
When It Works
Tolsta picks up just about any north swell, drawing from a wide window between northwest and northeast (NW-NE), with north (N) the best match. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. Consistency is on the patchier side, so it can go quiet for stretches, but there are worthwhile windows whenever a northerly swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
The prevailing southwest wind blows straight offshore here, so southwest (SW) is the direction to look for. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call. The hollow, fast sections tend to show best around lower water.
Local Tips
Tolsta is a friendly option for beginners, and the lineup stays fairly quiet, so there's usually plenty of room to spread out.

There's a car park with free parking at the north end, along with toilets and showers.
