Trebarwith Strand is a sand-bottomed beachbreak that peels both left and right. When the banks are cooperating it turns on a good wave, but when they aren't it leans toward a hollow, semi-close-out that bodyboarders in particular make the most of.
When It Works
Swell reaches the beach from southwest to northwest (SW-NW), and southwest (SW) is the best direction. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft, a broad range that holds everything from small days up to seriously sizeable surf. Consistency is moderate, so it won't be on every session, but good windows come around often enough to keep an eye on it.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind to clean it up. It breaks on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup gets busy when it's working, so expect plenty of company on the better days.
Access
There's a car park with paid parking, along with restrooms and a cafe and bar in the village. Keep in mind that the beach disappears at high tide, which makes access tricky, so plan your session around the lower stages.
