Overview
Ujung Walur is a short, hollow left that breaks over dead coral on the outskirts of the city. It's a reef peak built for barrel technicians: the ride doesn't last long, but anyone who can backdoor the hollow peak comes away rewarded.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from south to west (S-W), with southwest (SW) the best match. Sitting a little further out, it picks up more swell than breaks closer in, and it's a consistent performer that shows up often. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind to clean up the peak. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers who are comfortable taking on a hollow reef peak. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.
