Unstad Right is a surf spot located in Unstad's amphitheater bay, which hosts three distinct waves. This place has become more accessible since the tunnel to the village opened in autumn 1995. Many surfers regard Unstad Right as a pointbreak that can showcase some incredible conditions, possibly making it the best surf spot in Norway when the swell is right. The waves can offer large open faces and powerful pockets that create barrel sections, especially when the wind is blowing from the east. However, the end section tends to close out, so it's important to know what you're getting into.

This spot thrives on clean, longer-period swells coming from the west or north-west but can also handle swells from the south-west. Ideal conditions occur when swells are around 4 feet (about 1.2 meters). The waves break over boulders, and it’s a right-hand wave, which is good to know for your positioning. Low to mid tide works best here, and keep in mind that this spot is suited for expert surfers due to the mixed speed of the waves and the currents.
