Valla Beach Surf Forecast Guide

Overview

Valla Beach is a sand-bottom beachbreak that serves up both lefts and rights. When the banks come together, the peaks in front of the car park turn solid, sucky and full of clout. There is also a right that can get good off a rocky platform, and bodyboarders tend to claim the peak at Humpies.

When It Works

The banks in front of the car park come alive on small, peaky swells running from the northeast round to the southeast. Overall the beach draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south (NE-ESE-S), and it is at its best on an east (E) swell. The rocky-platform right is more particular, needing just the right south-southeast swell to fire. It is a consistent spot that is especially reliable in small swells, and it works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 3 m / 10 ft.

Wind and Tide

Look for a west (W) offshore wind to clean things up. It breaks across low, mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

Local Tips

The waves here suit intermediate surfers, and you can expect a moderately busy lineup when it is on.

Access

There is a car park with free parking, plus paid and roadside parking.
