West Beach is a surf spot located further south near Sanya and Yalong Bay. It's less developed compared to surrounding beaches, giving it a more untouched feel without any hotels wrecking the view. Access is a bit rough, as you'll need to navigate dirt tracks through the virgin forest to get there.

The surf here tends to need some good southeast swells to really show what it can do, though often you'll just find it breaking as a straight wave. The optimal swell direction is from the northeast, and it can handle sizes around 1ft (0.3 meters). The beach breaks can go left or right, making it beginner-friendly. The best wind direction is from the north, and it works well during low, mid, and high tide, though you might get better rides at certain times.

While West Beach is not the most consistent surf spot, it does have its moments. It's a great place for beginners to get comfortable with the waves, and the surroundings can be quite nice if you enjoy a more natural setting. Just keep your expectations in check, as it can sometimes be a bit underwhelming if conditions aren’t right.
