Overview
12th Street Jetty is a fun, rippable left that breaks over sand. The beach fills in a bit to the south, which helps give this spot its more playful, workable shape. When the swell and wind line up, it holds up as a reliable, consistent option.
When It Works
It draws swell from the northeast through east (NE-E), with northeast the best match. The wave is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft, and it tends to break consistently whenever those NE to E swells are running.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind to clean things up. It breaks on mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave is approachable enough for beginners, and you can expect a busy lineup when it works. Keep in mind the boardwalk crowds and a no-surfing window from 10am to 5pm that lifeguards enforce.
Access
Facilities include restrooms, showers, a surf shop, and lifeguards on hand. Parking comes as a mix of metered and roadside paid spots along with a car park.
