21st Street surf guide

21st Street is a well-known surf spot that attracts various surfers looking for a good session. It's a beach break that tends to pull in a decent crowd, so you might find yourself sharing the waves. The waves here are generally more powerful compared to other locations in the area, making it a decent choice for both beginners and more experienced surfers alike.

The surf at 21st Street really comes alive with north-east swells, but it can also handle north and south-east swells. The waves mainly break over sand, offering both lefts and rights, with the lefts being quite nice when conditions are right. The spot can handle swell sizes starting from about 2 feet (0.6 meters), and it works best during low to mid tide. Be mindful that it’s exposed to the wind, so west winds are usually preferable to keep the waves clean.

When heading out to 21st Street, remember to bring some change for the meters since parking is often a must. It’s a popular spot, and while there might be some competition for waves, it’s a great place to enjoy a surf session, especially when you get those longer lefts peeling down the beach. Enjoy the waves!
