40th Street is a Florida beachbreak that peels both left and right over a sandy bottom. The waves stay approachable and the bank holds up consistently, which makes it an easy option for surfers still finding their feet.
When It Works
The bank is at its best on a southeast (SE) swell, though it will take anything from north through east-northeast to southeast (N-ENE-SE). It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so there's a usable window across most rideable sizes. The more reliable spells tend to land in spring, autumn, and winter. Expect a decent, dependable wave rather than anything world-class.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind to clean up the faces. The beachbreak can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a genuinely beginner-friendly peak, and just about any board suits it, from shortboards and fish to funboards, longboards, and bodyboards. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on, with a somewhat reserved feel in the water.

There's a car park with paid and metered parking. Onshore you'll find restrooms, showers, and a lifeguard.
