Overview
52nd Street is a beginner-friendly beach break that peels over sand and offers both lefts and rights. A nearby buried pier has reshaped things over the years, so the waves tend to break straighter now, and it stays smaller than the surrounding spots.
When It Works
The break draws swell from east through south, but it leans heavily on a south (S) swell, which is what really wakes it up. It is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. Consistency is moderate, so time your session with an incoming southerly rather than count on it every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind to groom the faces. It works on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a forgiving, approachable wave that suits beginners well, and the lineup usually stays fairly quiet.
Access
There is a surf shop close by, and parking is easy with free roadside spots.
