Overview
Albatross to Kitchens is a right-hand reef break that peels over uneven reef and sand. Whichever section of the wave you line up on, you get hollow, fast, long waves for your trouble.
When It Works
The break pulls in swell from east through south to southwest, with south swell the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest offshore wind. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Want a more mellow session? Slot into Kitchen Windows, Magna Tubes, or Albatross instead. To make any of the barrels here, commit to a high, tight line.
Access
Getting in and out of the water can be painful thanks to the razor-sharp mussels, so mind your footing at entry and exit.
