Autovaernet was once rated the best break on Sealand, though it seldom lines up properly anymore. It's a beach break peeling over a mix of boulders and sand, and it can throw both lefts and rights. On a good day it reaches head high, peeling left when strong west or northwest conditions fill in.
When It Works
The spot draws swell from west through north, with northwest swell the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft. Because it rarely lines up cleanly these days, catching it on the right blend of size and direction is what makes the difference.
Wind and Tide
Look for a west offshore wind. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Autovaernet is best suited to intermediate surfers. Keep an eye on the rocks sitting very close to the break, and be ready for sideshore currents, which are always running here.
