Barley Cove is a stunning sandy beach break that peels both left and right. It rarely gets big, but the rivermouth sandbars make the most of any swell that finds its way in.
When It Works
The beach picks up swell from south to west (S-W), and southwest (SW) is the best match. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast (NE) offshore wind. Barley Cove breaks through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call. Keep an eye out for rips on a dropping tide.
Access
You can park right by the beach, and there's camping on hand.
