Overview
Bauang is a sand-bottomed beachbreak that peels both left and right. You'll find it near the cemetery and an abandoned beach resort, where the banks shape up the peaks.
When It Works
It draws swell from the southwest through north and comes into its own on a northwest (NW) swell. The break is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency is moderate, so it won't fire every day, but rideable waves show up fairly regularly.
Wind and Tide
A southeast (SE) offshore wind cleans up the faces. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The easy sand bottom and mellow peaks make this a friendly spot for beginners. Expect a fairly quiet lineup when it's working.
