Overview
Bica is a fat, super long right-hand point in São Pedro on Portugal's Costa Estoril, peeling over a mix of uneven reef and sand. Coming from the west, it's the first of the suburb's two right points, and its long, mellow walls make it ideally suited to longboarders. It's one of the more consistent spots along this stretch of coast, though it often looks much better from the shore than it actually rides.
When It Works
The point draws swell from south through west-southwest to northwest (S-WSW-NW), with west (W) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, a wide range that helps explain its consistency compared to other Costa Estoril spots.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind. Low tide is the best time to surf it, and a rising tide is generally the better call, so the push off low is the window to aim for.
Local Tips
Bica suits intermediate surfers, and the fat, drawn-out rights reward a longboard. It's always crowded, so expect plenty of company in the lineup whenever it's breaking.
Access
Parking is free along the roadside, and there's camping at the spot.
