Overview
Blue Bowls is a right-hand reef break that peels over dead coral, tucked inside the pass. It has a point-style feel, with a good length of ride and bowly sections that open up room for performance moves. It's the most flexible right here, holding its shape across a wide range of conditions.
When It Works
The wave draws swell from southwest through southeast, with southeast (SE) the best match. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, staying rideable on both small and solid days.
Wind and Tide
Look for a west (W) offshore wind. Its spot inside the pass also keeps it protected from southwest-to-west winds. It can work through most of the tide, from low to high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Blue Bowls suits intermediate surfers, and those bowly sections give you room to work on turns when it's on.
