Boilers surf guide

Boilers is a surf spot located just south of the lighthouse at Cap Rhir. It gets its name from a washed-up ship boiler nearby, making this place unique. Known for being consistent and powerful, the waves here can pack a punch. A lot of surfers come here looking for a challenge, so be ready for some company in the water.

The break at Boilers is a right-hander that really shines with a northwesterly swell. It handles swell sizes around 3 feet (about 1 meter) but can get much bigger. The waves can have vertical lips and speed walls, which are made even more fun by the north-easterly winds that funnel off the hills. You'll mostly find point waves breaking over an uneven reef, so it’s important to know what you’re doing. Advancing skills are a must here since the conditions can be tricky, especially during entry and exit due to urchins and sharp rocks.

When you're planning a session, aim for mid tide for the best experience. Just a heads up, Boiler tends to be more crowded than nearby spots like Tarhazoute, mainly because it usually picks up more swell than those areas. So, if you’re an expert and ready for a good challenge, this could be your place.
