Boulevard is a beachbreak a trike ride north of town, out near the discos. The cove and the offshore islets shelter it from most of what the ocean sends in, so it sits quiet until a big swell arrives. When one does, there can also be a fast right at the rivermouth on big northeast swells.
When It Works
Waves break over sand and peel both left and right. Swell arrives from north to east (N-E), and northeast swell is the best match. The break works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.5 m / 5 ft, though the surrounding protection means it really only comes alive on the bigger end of that. Sessions can be hard to time here, but the windows are worth watching for when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest offshore wind. The beach can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The waves suit beginners when the swell shows up, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet.
Access
Parking is free, either roadside or nearby.
