Overview
Boyndie Bay is a shifting beachbreak, with peaks moving around a bay just west of Banff. The banks are sand, throwing up both lefts and rights, and there's reef potential at the north end of the beach.
When It Works
The bay picks up swell from northwest through north to east, and lines up best on a north (N) swell. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, which leaves a decent window for the banks to hold a peak.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south (S) offshore wind to groom the faces. The beach can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
