Overview
Bridges is a sand-and-reef right pointbreak in the heart of Aguadilla, breaking right in front of the downtown government buildings. It's playful, rippable, and genuinely fun, with a few different sections scattered along its 100 or so yards, which makes it a great place to work on speed carves. Tucked deep in the bay, it stays glassy most of the time and only fires a handful of times a year.
When It Works
Bridges needs a big north or northwest swell to wake up, drawing from a west-to-north window with northwest (NW) the best match. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, roughly chest high to overhead. Sitting so far inside the bay makes it fairly fickle and somewhat inconsistent, but it's a good wave when it turns on. Autumn and winter are the times to watch: late summer and fall deliver tropical cyclone swells, while late fall through early spring brings more consistency.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind, though a northeast-through-southeast window all works here, and it stays glassy until the wind swings south. Tidal changes aren't dramatic, and it can break through low, mid, and high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate wave suited to shortboards and bodyboards. Expect a busy lineup whenever it's working, and if other spots are maxed out it fills up fast. The atmosphere in the water is neutral.
Access
You can park right there, with free roadside parking, and there's a surf shop close by. Keep in mind the water downtown is polluted, especially after rain.
