British Beach is a beach break that peels both left and right over an uneven reef. It sits fairly deep, which is why it often turns out better than it looks from the shore.
When It Works
The break draws swell from northwest through north to southeast, so a wide band of directions can light it up. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, giving you plenty of size to play with before it gets too big or drops off.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast offshore wind to clean up the faces. British Beach is rideable through low, mid, and high tide, so you are rarely locked out by the water level, with a rising tide generally the better call.
