Overview
Cemento is a right-hand reef break on Cemento Beach and the standout wave in the area. It's also known as Cobra Reef, named for the way the wave rears up like a cobra about to strike. The take-off is exciting and heart-in-mouth over a sharp coral reef, and while the ride is short, the wave itself is excellent. The beach is carpeted with white sand, seashells, and crushed coral, and it's a haven for lobsters and other marine life.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from north to east (N-E), with northeast (NE) the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, giving a wide window before conditions turn too small or too big.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southwest (SW) offshore wind. Cemento can work through most of the tide, from low to high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-level wave. Between the demanding take-off and the sharp coral reef, it's one for confident, experienced surfers.
Access
Cemento sits a short trip from Sabang: roughly 20 minutes by tricycle, 10 minutes by motor boat, or a 40-minute walk.
