Surf: Just to the North of Clarence River 1500m of coastline is angled into the SE swell setting up numerous walling right point options. Cross the train tracks and several fields to access the waves. Directions: Clarence Point is located just north of the Clarence River mouth, north of Kaikoura. From Kaikoura Drive north on State Highway 1 for about 20mins. Cross the Clarence River, past the couple of houses and round the next big bend, then park at the side of the road. From here its a walk across the train tracks and several paddocks to reach the point. Environment: Further north, Kekerengu offers easier rides and access down a much shorter set-up.
