Overview
Cockrane's Reef is a long, walled-up left that bends through almost 180°, wrapping around to join the neighbouring rights. It breaks over dead coral, and the adjoining rights are a good bet up to around 4 ft (1.2 m).
When It Works
The reef pulls in swell from west through north, and northwest is the best direction. It is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east offshore wind. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
It is best suited to intermediate surfers.
