Corto Circuito is a powerful right-hand reef break that fires off the point. It opens with a heaving tube over an outside slab, then quickly reverts to a long, slashable wall running onto the inside bricks. It breaks over uneven reef and is a challenging wave to take on.
When It Works
The break draws swell from southeast through south to west, with south swell the best match. It works from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft, and consistency is moderate, so you'll catch it on and off through the season. It's at its best on a due south swell at lower tide.
Wind and Tide
Look for north offshore wind to groom the wave. Low tide is the optimal call, and a rising tide is generally the better window.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet when it's on.
Access
Corto Circuito sits at the end of a dirt road, so you'll need a 4x4 to get in. There's free roadside parking once you're there.
