Cregg / Moy Beach is a rocky cove that serves up fun little waves, and it comes into its own as a sheltered option when the swell is big. Waves break over a mix of rock ledge and sand and peel both left and right. When it looks quiet here, there are usually more waves further round the bay.
When It Works
The cove draws swell from southwest through northwest, with west (W) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and its sheltered position makes it a reliable fallback when the swell is big.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. It works through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

The waves here suit intermediate surfers.
