Cua Dai Beach surf guide

Cua Dai Beach is located near Hoi An, Vietnam, and it's a spot that attracts both tourists and surfers. The beach has a pretty laid-back vibe, making it an easy place to kick back and enjoy the waves. While not overly crowded, you’ll find a mix of locals and visitors. The area around Hoi An is charming, with its artistic atmosphere and friendly folks, which makes it a great spot to spend a day after some surfing.

This beach has a steeper slope compared to nearby China Beach, and it picks up more of the NorthEast swell. You'll find that it can handle swell sizes starting from about 1 ft (0.3 m) and is suitable for beginners looking to catch some waves. The waves mainly break over sand and come in a mix of left and right directions. If you're planning to surf, the best wind conditions are from the SouthWest, and you can surf at low, mid, and high tide. Just keep in mind that the swell is mainly from the North and NorthEast.

While you’re in Hoi An, it’s a good idea to explore a bit. The town is famous for its tailor-made clothes and seafood, but Cua Dai Beach itself is where to head if you want to catch some waves. The rivermouth nearby creates constantly changing sandbars, so just be ready for some variation in the surf. It’s a decent spot for beginners and a nice place to relax after a day of riding waves.
