Da Hua Jiao is a sand-bottomed beach break that peels both left and right. Sitting fully exposed to swell and wind, it picks up plenty of surf and stays fairly consistent through the year. If you head further south, a separate break near a military camp fires under similar small northeast conditions, so keep the two apart when you're deciding where to paddle out.
When It Works
The break draws swell from northeast (NE) through east, and northeast (NE) swell is the best match for lining up clean peaks over the sand. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, giving you a broad working window from knee-high fun up to solid head-high sets. With that exposure and consistency, you can count on rideable waves more often than not.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind to groom the faces. The bank works across low, mid, and high tide, so you're rarely locked out, though a rising tide is generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a friendly spot for beginners, with forgiving beach-break peaks to practice on. The lineup usually stays fairly quiet, so you can expect plenty of room to find your own peak.
