Overview
Dalbosc is a serious beach break that fires over a mix of uneven reef and sand. On its day it throws a tubular left and a longer right, though it just as often shuts down into a big close-out. If it isn't cooperating, Deolen nearby is another low-tide option worth checking.
When It Works
The break takes swell from southwest through northwest (SW-NW), and it's dialed in best on a southwest (SW) swell. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, so there's a wide window between too small and too heavy to handle. Consistency is moderate, so you won't always score, but it delivers when the setup lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean up the faces. Tide-wise, aim for low tide, with a rising tide generally the better call as the session goes on.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, but it steps up quickly when the swell builds and becomes a spot for stronger surfers only on bigger days. Expect a busy lineup when it's on, drawing crowds of students and workers on their lunch break. Keep an eye on the currents, rocks, and rising tides.
