Devereux Beach surf guide

Surf: A steep shorebreak in front of the car park can get good, but most surfers come here for the submerged reef peak. Classy, hollow, and powerful with long workable walls on an E or NE swell. Remains offshore in the winter NE winds and needs low tides to prevent it from closing out. Needs to be head-high to break and continues to hold it right up to the biggest swells that Massachusetts receives. Access: Free in winter only Environment: More than half a dozen in the line-up is a crowd, which is usually the case at this average consistency spot. This makes the locals more protective than usual.
