Overview
Eggum is a beach break in Norway that breaks over boulders, serving up both lefts and rights. The boulders curve out to the west, opening more exposed options, and further along the coast road there's a beautiful pebble beach that needs a big swell and a south wind to come alive, though it tends to break in sections.
When It Works
Eggum draws swell from southwest through north (SW-N), with a northwest (NW) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. Consistency is moderate, so it won't be on every day, but there are worthwhile windows when the setup lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southeast (SE) offshore wind to clean things up. The break can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers best. Expect a quiet lineup, so you'll usually have space to settle into your own peak.
Access
There's free parking along the roadside, so getting in and out is easy.
