Ewa Beach Park is a long, southeast-facing stretch of sandbar and reefbreaks on Oahu. It sits among the military suburbs of Iroquois Point, near the entrance to Pearl Harbor, where you'll also find appropriately named breaks like Marine Beach and Tank Traps.
When It Works
The beach breaks over sand and picks up swell from southeast through south to west (SE-S-W), with south (S) the direction that lines it up best. Both lefts and rights are on offer. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, and the size here can be deceptive. When a swell reforms and doubles up through the inside, you can score some surprisingly long rides. Consistency is on the inconsistent side, so it pays to catch it when the setup comes together.
Wind and Tide
This is an exposed stretch that only really cleans up on north winds, so look for northwest (NW) offshore to groom it. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The waves here are approachable enough for beginners. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.
Access
There's a car park with free parking plus roadside parking, and the beach is backed up by restrooms, showers, and a lifeguard.
