Fete surf guide

Fete is a surf spot located near White Sands beach resort, shaped by low cliffs on one side that offer some shelter from westerly breezes. This spot is popular among surfers looking for some fun waves, especially when the conditions are just right. It's a beach that consistently offers waves, making it a decent option even on smaller days.

The waves at Fete are best when the swell is coming from the south, but it can also handle southeast and southwest swells. It works well with swell sizes starting from just 1 ft (0.3 m) and goes up from there. The waves here break over a mix of uneven reef and sand, creating both point breaks and beach breaks. You can expect right-hand waves and it’s suitable for intermediate surfers looking to improve their skills. For the best experience, aim for low to mid tides and keep an eye out for northwesterly winds; they tend to create the best surf conditions.

Just to the west, you’ll find Tills beach, which is known for quick-fire close-outs that attract kiteboarders. While Fete can be a fun spot to session, don’t forget to check the tides and swell size before heading out to maximize your surf time.
