Overview
Figari centers on the Baie di Figari, where a few average beachbreaks sit among the rocks on the east side of the bay. It leans more towards being a kite and windsurf area than a dedicated surf spot. Further north at Portigliolo, another stretch of sand comes to life in onshore conditions with a good amount of west swell; it is usually messy, but the right day can throw up a few fun corners. On flat summer days there are all sorts of watersports to fall back on.
When It Works
The waves break over sand and peel both left and right. It picks up swell from the southwest through to the northwest, and works best on a southwest (SW) swell. The spot is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. It can be somewhat inconsistent, so it pays to watch the forecast for the right window.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it is on.
