Overview
Forok Point, also known as Dabiar Beach, is the standout right-hand pointbreak in East Sepik. The wave runs over sand and now and then throws up a left, but the right is the main event. When the spots closer in go flat, it's worth the extra drive out here.
When It Works
The point favours north (N) swell, though it stays workable across a window from northwest to northeast. Consistency is a real strength, so you'll usually find something to ride. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft, holding shape from small days right through to properly big swells.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind to groom the wall. The point breaks through all tides, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
It suits intermediate surfers well, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet even when it's firing.
Access
Reaching it means 7 km (4.5 mi) of dirt road that floods easily, so plan your trip around dry conditions.
