Four Bobs Surf Forecast Guide

Overview

Four Bobs is a right-hand coral reef sitting a short paddle from Kandui resort, across the channel from Karangbat. It breaks over live coral and tends to be a lot more fun than it looks from the boat. Take off behind the peak and you get a workable wall to hit, then a cutback section that tapers off into deep water.

When It Works

The reef draws swell from south through southwest, and a south swell is the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there's a decent window between too small to break properly and too much for the setup.

Wind and Tide

Look for a west offshore wind to hold the wall open. Four Bobs can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

Local Tips

These are gentle warm-up rights, and they suit beginners looking for an easier wave than the heavier breaks nearby. The catch is the inside: there are shallow coral heads waiting in there, and they're beautiful to look at but not something you want to meet. Keep an eye on where the cutback section runs out and you'll stay clear of them.
