Overview
Hash Point is a mellow, crumbly right-hander that peels along a point right in the middle of town. The wave breaks over sand, so how cleanly it lines up depends on how the banks set up off the rocks. Since it sits in town, the water here can pick up some pollution from local sewers.
When It Works
The point picks up swell from the southwest through to north (SW-N), and it comes into its own on a northwest (NW) swell. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, which gives a generous working window whenever there's swell around.
Wind and Tide
A northeast (NE) offshore wind is what cleans this one up. It works on mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The forgiving, crumbly wall makes this a good pick for intermediate surfers looking to log some turns on an easygoing right.
