Il Trabucco is a sand-bottom beach break that peels on both sides of the pier, throwing up fast rights and lefts, with several other peaks scattered along the beach. Be aware that the water here can be dirty.
When It Works
The break draws swell from southwest through northwest, and it comes alive best on southwest (SW) swell. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft, and it is really a spot to check on small, windless southwest days. Once the wind turns onshore, it is not worth surfing.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean things up. The beach can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The waves are mellow enough for beginners to have a go. Expect a busy lineup when it is on.
Access
You will find it 5 km north of Forte dei Marmi along the coast road. Park after the marina bridge, close to restaurant Trabucco. Time Out and Ola Surfboard are the local surf shops.
