Overview
Juno Pier is a consistent sand-bottomed beachbreak that peels off the sandbars on either side of a 1,100ft pier. It's the most reliable wave in north Palm Beach County, so even a trace of swell will usually stand something up. It's no big-wave spot, but it can hold size, with a midsection that tends to connect through to a steep, fast, and rippable inside.
When It Works
Juno draws swell from north through east-northeast to southeast (N-ENE-SE), with northeast (NE) swell the best match, though it also throws up fun peaks on southeast windswell. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, running from waist-high and playful up to overhead when the bigger swells arrive. Both lefts and rights are on offer, and it stays consistent right through spring, autumn, and winter.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind to clean it up. The bank works across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call. With enough swell it'll even keep a fun inside section firing at high tide, which sets it apart from a lot of the surrounding area.
Local Tips
Shortboards and fish are the natural fit here, and the smaller days are approachable for beginners. Expect a very busy lineup when it's on, since everyone knows the moment Juno turns good. The atmosphere in the water tends to stay neutral, so mind your manners and you'll be fine.
Access
Getting in is easy, with restrooms, showers, and lifeguard cover on hand. The lifeguards manage the area and set up paddle-out channels beside the pier when it gets big. Parking is simple too, with a big car park plus metered and roadside options.
