Kame Rock surf guide

Kame Rock is located on a stretch of beach that features miles of average beachbreak in either direction. It’s known among surfers for its distinctive rock formation that gives the spot its name, and it can be a decent place to catch some waves when conditions line up just right.

The surf at Kame Rock tends to work best with a NorthEast swell, but it can also handle SouthEast swells. It's capable of dealing with swell sizes from about 2 ft. (0.6 m) onwards. You’ll find a mix of lefts and rights here, with the best waves breaking over sand. When the sandbars are set up nicely, you can score some good barrels, although there can be a fair number of close-outs as well. It’s ideal to surf during low, mid, or high tides, especially with a NorthWest wind for optimal conditions. This spot is best suited for intermediate surfers looking to improve their skills.

When you head to Kame Rock, remember that the vibe can fluctuate depending on the day and conditions. It can get crowded at times, so be ready to share the waves. Overall, it’s a spot worth checking out, especially if you’re in search of some classic beachbreak surfing.
