Kerloch surf guide

Kerloch is a mellow beachbreak that serves as a reliable spot for surfers of all levels. Located in a spot that’s visible right from the road, it's easy to find. The beach stretches along a long scalloped shore, with different sections catering to various skill sets. While it might not be the most famous surf spot out there, it still offers something for everyone, especially during the winter months when larger swells roll in.

The surf here works best with NorthWest swells and can handle sizes around 2ft (about 0.6 meters). You can catch both left and right waves here, making it a versatile spot. The best wind conditions are from the NorthEast, and it works well around mid to high tide. If you're in the northern corner of the beach, you can still find surfable waves even when the wind’s blowing from the west. Just remember, the currents tend to flow toward the take-off zone, so be mindful of that when you’re out in the water.

Further down the beach at Kersiguennou, there’s a good summer spot that’s perfect for beginners, especially in front of the cliffs. If you’re looking for bigger waves, check out Goulien at the south end, which tends to amp up in W-NW swells. Overall, Kerloch is a solid choice for a casual surf day with some decent vibes.
