Overview
Krui Left is a hollow, quality left that breaks over dead coral reef. On its day it draws comparisons to Bingin on Bali, though only the largest swells wrap far enough to swing past the protruding southern point.
When It Works
The reef pulls in swell from south to west (S-W), with southwest (SW) lining it up best. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and it really wants size on the bigger end of that, since it takes a serious swell to bend around the point. Consistency is moderate, so it pays to pick your windows rather than expect it every session.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate-level wave, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet when it's on. One heads-up on the setting: the beach is used as a latrine, and the rivermouth gets filthy when it's flowing.
