L'Hermitage surf guide

L'Hermitage is a surf spot located in a stunning natural lagoon reserve. It offers a unique environment for surfers looking for a bit of excitement. The scenic coastline adds to the overall vibe of the place, making it a go-to for local surfers. The atmosphere is laid-back, perfect for those who want to catch some waves without too much hassle.

The surf here mainly works with north swell directions and can handle sizes from around 2ft (0.6 meters) up to much bigger swells. You’ll find both left reef breaks, which can be quite fun, and occasionally some right breaks, but the rights are shorter and more intense. The ideal wind is coming from the north-east, and the best time to surf is during low to mid-high tides. Keep in mind that this spot is best suited for expert surfers due to its challenging conditions and the fact that it can get a bit sharky.

If you're paddling out, you'll find a 5-knot current that makes it easier to get beyond the break, but be prepared because coming back in can be a bit tricky. The unique wave setup makes it a good spot to sharpen your skills, especially when the conditions align with the north swells and proper winds. Enjoy the ride, but always stay aware of your surroundings!
