Overview
La Corniche - Sahara is a long beachbreak running along Foum El Oued, a seaside resort with hotels on the coast west of Laâyoune. Waves break over a mix of rock ledge and sand and peel both left and right, so there's plenty of beach to spread out along.
When It Works
The break picks up swell from west to north (W-N), with northwest (NW) the direction that lines it up best. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, though smaller swells tend to bring out its best. Expect a gentle, forgiving wave rather than anything heavy.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind, and glassy, slack conditions make a real difference here. It works through mid and high tide, with a rising tide the better call and high tide the sweet setup.
Local Tips
With its long, easygoing beachbreak peaks, this is a friendly spot for beginners to find space and put in some hours.
