La Coudoulière is a right-hand point that breaks over an uneven reef on the Six-Fours peninsula. This stretch of coast has the widest swell window and the best wind exposure in the area, and on the west side the righthander really comes to life with the rare combination of a southwest swell and no wind at all.
When It Works
The point draws swell from south through west (S-W), with southwest (SW) the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Facing the Mistral keeps swell coming, but the wave can be somewhat inconsistent and is often too messy to bother with unless you have a sail.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east (E) offshore wind to clean it up. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate-friendly right, and you can expect a moderately busy lineup when it works. When the wind swings onshore, the action shifts to the Brutal Beach line-up, which you will share with the kite and windsurf crowd.
Access
There are restrooms and showers on hand. For parking you have a car park with free parking, plus paid and roadside options nearby.
